The University Archives has a large amount of ephemeral material about the people, places, and events which have shaped Tulane’s history. Researchers draw heavily from these files, and most of the material contained therein may be photographed or photocopied.
The Subject vertical files contain information on a range of topics from buildings to organizations to events to policies to curriculum changes. Most files contain pamphlets, flyers, brochures, articles, reports, and/or historical documents. This ever-growing collection of topical files dates back to the late 1800s, and contains information added to the files this week.
The Personnel vertical files contain information about administrators, faculty, staff and some noteworthy alumni. These files generally contain a variety of material, such as biographical information, newspaper clippings, copies of speeches, curriculum vitae, correspondence, and miscellaneous published tidbits.
